IGS awarded 2005 Governors Tourism Development Award

The State of Nevada awards Intermountain Guide Service with the 2005 Governor’s Tourism Development Award.

In early December 2005 at the governor’s conference on tourism held in Las Vegas, Nevada, Intermountain Guide Service was presented with the Governor’s Tourism Development Award for the providing guided ATV, Horseback, and Bonneville Salt Flat Tours in West Wendover, Nevada.

The award was presented by Lorraine Hunt, Nevada’s Lieutenant Governor and Chairperson of the Nevada Commission on Tourism, during the annual Governor’s Conference on Tourism.

“We are honored to receive this award it shows that our service is appreciated and that we are providing a service that is valuable to the State of Nevada and the community of West Wendover, Nevada.” Intermountain Guide Service operates professionally guided ATV, Horseback, and Bonneville Salt Flat Tours beginning in early March through the end of November.

Come see where the new movie “The World’s fastest Indian”, starring Anthony Hopkins was recently filmed on the Bonneville Salt Flats near Wendover, Nevada.

Beginning in March 2006 IGS will offer an interpretive tour to the Bonneville Salt Flats. The one hour tour originates in Wendover, Nevada where a van shuttle will pick guests up at any of the major hotels in Wendover. From there take a 10 minute ride out to the Bonneville Salt Flat viewing area where guests will have time for a photo opportunity and then listen in on a 15 minute interpretive presentation on the natural and human history of the Bonneville Salt Flats and Wendover area. After you have had plenty of time to take in the beauty of the area your professional guide will return you to your hotel in Wendover. All in 1 hour, and for only $20.00.
